Piccadilly Review:
More fresh house music sounds from the Home Taping crew, this time featuring new talent - SE62, a new artist straight out of the Ukraine. "Wall Ride" has influences from late 90s deep house; live keyboard licks, funky percussion tracks and a restrained feel to it. The production however is much crisper and more defined than the slurry of bad pressings that plagued deep house in the 90s making this a tasty bit of future-retro house music (you'll notice that the breakdowns and drops are much more contextual to reflect the current dancefloor moods). On the flip "The Tape" chugs along in mechanical funk fashion before searing Rhodes riffs ride over the groove to create a low-slung carnival ass-shaker. Promising stuff from a new producer determined to keep the raw spirit of house music alive but while keeping production aesthetics and ideas up-to-date and now.
More fresh House music sounds from the Home Taping crew, this time featuring two emerging House talents – SE62 and Eddie C (Jisco Music).
SE62 is a new artist straight out of the Ukraine who is exciting many DJs and producers with his heavily atmospheric and raw take on the House sound. The main track ‘Wall Ride’ is a slick slice of Motor City Soul remixed by Canadian producer Eddie C. While on the flip, ‘The Tape’ is a raw, heads down Moodymann inspired affair.
Press play and let the dancefloor do the talking.
